Dolce Fine Giornata

Poland 2019 | 90 minutes | Italian, Polish, French | Hebrew, English subtitles

Maria Linde is a Jewish Nobel Prize winner of Polish origin residing in Italy. Her life follows the quiet rhythms of the Italian countryside, until her marriage begins to fall apart as she grows fond of young immigrant, Nazeer. After a terrorist attack in Rome, Maria boldly decries Europe’s eroding democracy—but she is unprepared for the havoc her comments create. Polish filmmaker Jacek Borcuch presents an elegant and heartbreaking film that thoughtfully considers the role of art, politics, and family, while reflecting on Europe’s present and past.
