Tomka and his Friends

WWII, a small Albanian village. A small boy, Tomka, the oldest among his young friends, plays daily on the riverbank, until the Nazis invade the playground. The outraged children decide to retaliate. First, they poison the black German shepherd that does not permit them to approach their beloved playing field. Later, the children help blow up the enemy military camp…. Tomka and His Friends is considered one of the most acclaimed works of Albanian cinema. The simple and realistic scenery, the fluid camera-work, and the masterful narrative, all make for a moving and extraordinary film for children and adults alike.
