Midnight Cowboy

USA 1969 | 113 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

A young and silly dishwasher comes from Texas to New York intending to conquer the big city. He sinks into degenerate loneliness, from which he is saved by the only friend he managed to make - a sickly and wretched young man. This is an excellent portrait of a time and place that brilliantly captures the essence of the late 1960s. With captivating performances by Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman, Midnight Cowboy won the 1969 Academy Award for Best Picture and is one of the pinnacles of American cinema of the 1960s.
