Tomak and his mother live by themselves in a small apartment. His father left for the USA. One day, he makes a surprising return with a bag full of presents and promises. No one knows why he left and why he has returned. Everyone seems to be happy, but underneath the surface, the air is filled with growing tensions and distress. Ghosts from the past begin to afflict the family, and Tomak has to grow up very quickly. Return to Legoland offers a sober look at the 1990s, the pleasures and hardships of the first decade after communism. This is a sensitive and poignant family drama about childhood and coping.
