A young artist falls in love with the gay author Lyton Strachey at the beginning of the 20th-century, in Victorian England. In six episodes, Christopher Hampton - the genius screenwriter who won the Oscars for Dangerous Liaison and The Father - depicts this relationship, which had love and intimacy, as well as a partnership, and with the help of Emma Thompson and Jonathan Pryce, sketches two unusual heroes who managed to find a soul mate.
