Worlds Apart

Makio Kodai, a reserved 35-year-old writer, takes her 15-year-old niece Takumi in after the sudden death of her parents. Though Makio had little connection with her late sister, she finds herself forming a deep bond with Takumi, a lively and outgoing girl who is her complete opposite. As the two navigate their shared grief, their growing relationship helps them both heal and discover what has been missing in their lives. The film tenderly explores themes of loss, connection, and the unexpected healing power of family.
